On September 19, a delegation from the French Embassy visited the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and the French ambassador in Vietnam, Mr. Olivier Brochet awarded Dr. Phan Thi San Ha with the Academic Palm Medal The award was dedicated to her wonderful talent and energy in building and managing the CARE - Center of Asian Research on Water as well as developing strong relationships between HCMUT and European partners, especially French partners.
Dr. Phan Thi San Ha, was in charge of International Relations of HCMUT, and the former Director of the CARE. Indeed, with her skills and enthusiasm, she has brought up many opportunities for cooperation with European partners, and contributed to the foundation of the CARE to develop joint research projects and training activities. CARE was officially inaugurated in November 2013 together with the Presidents of several internationals Universities: Grenoble INP - Ense3, UGA, EPFL, Polytechnique Montréal, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT). Since then, CARE has continued to raise its local and international impact, thanks to the financial support VNUHCM - University of Science, Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) (since 2019) and CNRS (since 2021). Thanks to Dr. Phan Thi San Ha, CARE Center also become one of the successful research center within the RESCIF network. RESCIF's mission is to implement innovative and sound cooperation between 14 universities of technology and 6 laboratories across the world to face some of the major environmental challenges. All of us at CARE are delighted and proud of this well-deserved honour for our colleague.
