On February 17th, 2022, The Asian Water Research Center (CARE - RESCIF) along with Ho Chi Minh University of Technology (HCMUT) was delighted to welcome the delegation of the Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh city.
The delegation included Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser, French Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Frédérique Horn - Cultural Attache and Mr. Dominique Laffly, Scientific Attache of the French Embassy in Vietnam.
On behalf of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - President of HCMUT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Danh Thao - Vice President, Dr. Ho Tuan Duc - Director of CARE, Dr. Vu Anh Quang - Vice Director of the External Relations Office, Dr. Marc Descloitres - Scientific Director of CARE and co-director of the International Joint Laboratory LECZ-CARE and other professors.
Starting the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong, enunciated his appreciation for the French Consulate General visit. In response, Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser said it was a pleasure to pay a visit to HCMUT, CARE and to take part in today’s meeting.
During the meeting, the two discussed potentials and long-term orientation in the research field. Mr. Mai Thanh Phong also introduced the study programs in various areas at HCMUT and expressed his desire for cooperation with France, scholarship and internship enhancement as well as international exchange opportunities for students between the two countries.
At the end of the speech, Mr. Mai Thanh Phong handed a pink lotus bud which is considered to be a cultural symbol and Vietnamese national flower delicately integrated in a glass frame as a souvenir to Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser. Afterwards, the delegation continued their visit at CARE center.
At the conference room, Dr. Marc Descloitres presented a brief speech of CARE’s purpose and long-term orientation, as well as the IRD cooperation tools at the Laboratory. Mr. Marc and his Vietnamese colleagues respectively introduced CARE’s activities and significant contributions to education that the center had achieved so far.
The next destinations were the laboratory of water analysis, the laboratory of wastewater and eco-toxicology research group. An online meeting with Dr. Julien Némery was held via online platform to discuss detailed information on ecological research.
At the end of the visit, there was a small lunch with traditional coconut drink.
CARE’s representatives prepared gifts for the delegation as a deep appreciation for their precious time at CARE.
Visite du Consulat Général de France à Ho Chi Minh-Ville à l'Université Polytechnique
Le matin du 17 février, Mme. Emmanuelle PAVILLON-GROSSER, Chef de délégation du Consulat de France à Ho Chi Minh-Ville, a rendu visite à l'Université Polytechnique - l'université nationale de Ho Chi Minh-Ville. En même temps, la délégation a visité des laboratoires et travaillé avec le Centre Asiatique de Recherche sur l'Eau (Laboratoire Care).
Mme. Emmanuelle PAVILLON-GROSSER a été nommée Consule Générale de France à Ho Chi Minh - Ville et a pris ses fonctions à la fin de 2021. C’est sa première visite à l'Université Polytechnique.
Accueillant de la délégation était Dr. MAI Thanh Phong - Recteur de l’Université Polytechnique, Dr. NGUYEN Danh Thao - Vice-recteur, Dr. HO Tuan Duc - Directeur du CARE, Dr. VU Anh Quang - Chef adjoint du Département des Relations Extérieures et les autres enseignants.
Dr. MAI Thanh Phong souhaite Mme Emmanuelle PAVILLON-GROSSER avoir un succès mandat législature au Vietnam. En même temps, le recteur souhaite recevoir plus de soutien et de l’encadrement du Consulat de France dans un proche avenir.
Lors de la réunion, Mme. Emmanuelle PAVILLON-GROSSER a exprimé sa joie et son honneur de visiter l’Université Polytechnique. Elle a apprécié le programme de formation, la recherche et les autres activités de l'université.
Mme. Emmanuelle PAVILLON-GROSSER et ses collègues ont un intérêt particulier pour le Laboratoire CARE et le réseau RESCIF. Lors de la rencontre au Laboratoire de CARE, M. Marc DESCLOITRES - Directeur Scientifique du Laboratoire CARE a présenté les outils de coopération de l'IRD pour aider au laboratoire. En outre, les scientifiques du CARE ont présenté des recherches. La délégation a visité également des laboratoires d'analyse de l'eau, laboratoire d'eaux usées et groupe de recherche sur l'écotoxicité.
