Introduction
HISTORY

Milestone
24th Oct. 2010 - The Network of Excellence in Engineering Sciences of the French-Speaking Community (RESCIF) was created. It implements innovative, targeted and sustainable partnerships between 15 techno-logical universities to address key issues in emerging and developing countries. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) is the only member of RESCIF for South-East Asia.
19th Nov. 2013 - the Asian Center for Water Research (Centre Asiatique de Recherchesur l’Eau, CARE) was created. CARE is currently the main research centers of RESCIF.
Jan. 2019 – CARE was recognized as the International Joint Laboratory (IJL) of Research Institute for Development (IRD-France), and is also a member of the Young Team Associated with IRD (JEAI) “Plastic” of IRD-France.
Nov. 2023 – CARE enters phase two and is restructured with 4 core themes and a cross-cutting theme.
OBJECTIVES
Mission of CARE is to develop interdisciplinary researches on water, environment and climate change and to build up cooperation among universities in Vietnam, Southeast Asian region and the members of RESCIF.
CARE is a hub that promotes efficiently linkage between national and international experts to carry out research and training activities in the field of water conservation and water resources.
Collaborative research
Collaborative projects focus on the analysis of water resources and its evolution. It is organised to address three social issues: (i) Water and Critical Zone (CZ), (ii) Water, hazards and vulnerabilities and (iii) Water and health.
The disciplines gathered to answer to those priorities are: hydrology, sedimentology, biogeochemistry, geology, hydrogeology, geomorphology, geophysics, oceanography, human geography and engineering for water and wastewater treatment.
Axis 1
Water and Critical Zone
Axis 2
Water, Hazards and Vulnerabilities
Axis 3
