Periodically, CARE has scheduled monthly sampling on the Saigon River, and on this occasion, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet has visited IRD – CARE experts on Wednesday, June 5th 2024. According to the plan, the tour made stops at three points along the river. The first stop was at the Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe entrance, then along to the Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe and end at the Ben Nghe Canal. At each stop, research teams provided brief overviews of the river pollutant research, ecotoxicology and conduct sampling procedures. The CARE Director - Dr. Ho Tuan Duc presented hydrology and river dynamics when the delegation returned from Ben Nghe to Greenline pier. We do hope that this trip have had significant meaning, allowing us to introduce to the French embassy the exemplary research and our regular research work for the groups, which is collecting samples from the river.
