FIELD VISIT OF THE FRENCH SENATE DELEGATION WITH CARE ON THE SAIGON RIVER
On 23 September 2025, CARE had the great honor of welcoming a delegation of French senators, led by Mr. Alain Cadec, President of the France-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, and accompanied by Mr. Etienne Ranaivoson, Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, for a field visit along the Saigon River.
The visit provided an opportunity to present and exchange on the research activities conducted over the past 12 years by CARE scientists from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) and the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD).
Discussions focused on key issues such as land subsidence and coastal erosion in the Mekong Delta, river dynamics, and surface water quality. During the field trip, water sampling and in-situ measurements were carried out on the Saigon River, demonstrating the long-term water quality monitoring program implemented by CARE researchers.
