As part of the PSF HGP-Mekong training program, a hydrogeophysical survey was held in Sihanouville, Preah Sihanouk province, Cambodia. An international team of 8 scientists joint the survey with the objective of practicing TDEM sounding in the field and interpret the data to evidence the interface between saline and fresh water in the aquifer along the coastline, the so-called saline wedge. Seawater intrusion into the aquifer is potentially a new threat in this area due to the increased demand for groundwater accompanying urban and industrial development in the region.
